This week was a vacation week for Beth from work. Lots was done around the house (thanks Taylor) to get our office up and going for classes starting this week. We spent quite a bit of time with friends this week that we haven't seen in a while. Our little Pixie started her music class again and so we were both able to go with her to that. She had a playdate with a little boy born 2 days after her (so young to date, we know)! Beth learned from Taylor's grandma how she makes her pies from scratch and made a yummy apple pie for Taylor (all the bikers reading this blog can call Beth the reason that Taylor gets to work extra hard training starting this year). We even got a little time for just the two of us as our Cupcake spent the night at Beth's parents on Saturday. This is the 2nd overnight for her and she did GREAT! Grammie & Grampie have the magic touch with her and she has so much fun with them.
We spent the night at Hotel Pattee in Perry. This is a wonderful hotel (about the only thing in this small town in Iowa). This is where Taylor proposed to Beth and we were so disappointed when it closed down. It reopened about 6 months ago and we have been wanting to get back there. They have their own little historic bowling alley there (2 lanes) and Taylor bowled what would have probably been his best game ever if the pins hadn't gotten stuck in about the 8th frame. He had gotten 5 strikes in a row and 2 spares so far....wow!
Today, we went to Big Creek and broke in our snowshoes with a 3 mile hike. It was a lot of fun and our snowshoes will be getting lots of use if we can keep some snow on the ground!
For those reading who know that Beth is quite the knitter, she was able to finish her perfect pie shawl (details on Ravelry) and also did a Slouchy CopyCat hat (in 2 days). Her knitting mojo may be back!
As for Taylor's fitness, he plans to start updating his training link on the blog. He got in some good training this week while Beth was off...let's give him some good encouragement to keep it up!
