State Fair Goodness

Our little Pumpkin had her first taste of the Iowa State Fair this week. She got to preview the Fabric and Threads early to find out if her Mom got any ribbons this year. Nope :( This year Beth just entered a couple small pieces (none knit with the intention of entering in the Fair). As Grammie J so keenly put, "There is always next year". Last year was the first year Beth competed and took 3rd place for her piece. Note to self: Make sure entries are finished with "State Fair Quality" technique and blocked properly.

The best part of the Fair? CORNDOGS! Pumpkin is getting good exposure on that. We think that she is well on way to being a fan like Mom & Dad. So, A&W Rootbeer was enjoyed, corndogs, Anderson Erickson Cookies & Cream shake, freshly squeezed lemonade, and some taffy for the road. Mmmmmm....Taylor is already plotting his afternoon run :) We also visited some friends whose girls show steers each year, so our sweetie did get to see a couple animals up close. And did I mention the Buttter Cow??? Can't miss the Butter Cow.

Who out there loves their State Fair?
